Program Description

The two-year MA program requires that students take a total of 60 US credits/120 ECTS (40 US credits/80 ECTS through coursework). A minimum of 30 US credits/60 ECTS need to be obtained in the first year (all through coursework). In the second year, 30 US credits/60 ECTS will be obtained (12 US credits/24 ECTS through coursework, 2 US credits/4 ECTS for the thesis writing workshop, and 16 US credits/32 ECTS for research and thesis writing).

For those without specialization 20 US credits/40 ECTS come from mandatory courses and 20 US credits/40 ECTS from elective courses.

For those specializing in Global and Urban Studies 32 US credits/64 ECTS come from mandatory courses and 8 US credits/16 ECTS from elective courses and at least 6 of the 10 elective credits have to be chosen from the Urban and Global Studies Electives Cluster of courses, offered in both Fall and Winter.
